Identify geologic hazards in Oregon with new online tool
Oct 25, 2012 9:30 am
Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries is releasing a new HazVu tool for identifying geologic hazards in Oregon. This new tool allows the public to enter an address and see which geohazards, ranging from a Cascadia earthquake and tsunami to volcanoes, landslides, coastal erosion, and the 100-year floodplain, could affect that location. Oregon HazVu can also show areas with active faults, earthquake soft soil hazards, and expected shaking. The viewer can be accessed online at www.OregonGeology.org/sub/hazvu.
